Fresh Twist In Cohen’s Murder Case

Since the murder of Tob Cohen, the court has taken very long time to solve the case.

The sister of murdered The sister of murdered Dutch ty coon Tob Cohen wants his widow stopped from using his surname to identify herself in a court case that involves the control of his es tate estimated to be worth Sh700 million.

Ms Gabriel Hannah van Straten is also opposed to the widow, Ms Sarah Wairimu Kamotho Cohen, inheriting anything from the ty coon’s estate.

She argues that, in line with sec tion 96 of the Law of Succession Act, her sister-in-law is not enti tled to any share in the estate.

In the court documents filed yesterday through lawyer Shad rack Wambui, Ms Van Straten has asked the court to strike out a re quest lodged by the widow seek ing to be granted the authority to administer the estate as the sur viving spouse.

Alternatively, Ms Van Straten wants court to strike out the name Cohen’ wherever it appears in the pleadings filed by the wid ow to the extent that it is used to refer to her.

“For the duration of time that she was married to Tob, she nev er adopted one of his names and hitherto, she has never by way of a deed poll opted to changing her name by adopting Cohen’s name,” says Ms Van Straten in the fresh tycoon Tob Cohen wants his widow stopped from using his surname to identify herself in a court case that involves the control of his estate estimated to be worth Sh700 million.

She argues that, inline with section 96 of the Law of Succession Act, her sister-in-law is not entitled to any share in the estate.
