Deputy president William Ruto is mourning following the sudden death of Mzee Benard Kathanga who was a mau mau fighter during the colonial period in a bid of fighting for liberation of Kenya from the colonial power.
According to Deputy president William Ruto, the late Mzee Benard was the founder chairman of cooperative bank.
DP William Ruto in his message he penned in social media, described the late Mzee Benard Kathanga as an individual who was hardworking, determined and influential person who was progressive and served the great nation of Kenya with dedication.

However, Interior cabinet secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i has highlighted details ahead of August election as far as security is concerned.
Speaking during the the pass out police cadets at Kiganjo, CS Fred Matiang’i affirmed that August election will be conducted peaceful as security will be tightened. Matiang’i said that security system is ready for the August general election.
