Universities Not To Reopen as Scheduled Under This Worrying Condition: Opinion

Most of the Universities in the country closed for the December holiday and are now expected back for continuation of learning process. However, on the basis of details as per opinion, universities that closed for holiday season might fail to reopen again under some worrying condition.

Covid-19 pandemic has been a great threat in the country where the current new variant of Covid-19 is creating a sense of fear. Cases have been reportedly escalating and if the numbers continues to upsurge then universities might fail to consider reopening as a bold bid to contain further spread of the virus.

Universities and colleges were asked to observe covid-19 protocols within the institution. Most of the Universitues used e-learning where the learning process was streamed online in a bid of observing social distancing and gathering. However, despite the fact that most of the universities have turned physical learning, they can still be forced to turn to virtual learning if covid-19 escalates.

Therefore, their is a bold possiblity of universities not reopening again as scheduled if cases escalates. The ministry of health with it’s cabinet secretary Mutahi Kagwe advised Kenyans to observe covid-19 protocols and bear in mind that covid-19 still exists.
